Welcome to the
on scenic Lake Powell. We concentrate on stripers and small mouth bass.

Stripers are a very challenging prey on a fly rod. Many of you have seen the January 2000 issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine which features Dave Whitlock. When you hook one, hang on, you are in for a "good fight." We recommend 7-8 wt. rods for the lake if you are striper fly-fishing. If you are spin fishing or bait casting, we recommend 6.5-7' medium action. Stripers can average 5lbs in the beginning or the season and later on, we may be looking at 7-10 lbs.
We take a lot into consideration in scouting for these fish. Wayne Gustaveson, who is the Chief Biologist at Lake Powell, keeps us current on patterns and locale. His information is helpful in providing a very successful day for your fishing experience. By watching moon phases, bird migration and bait fish, we can provide some great fishing for you.
The
is a daily charter trip. We leave from Wahweap Marina or Stateline Marina. This is sight fishing at its best and you get to see a lot of what Lake Powell has to offer. Some days we cover over 50 miles.

Our seasons are as follows:
for Fly Rodding -
May through November
for Conventional Fishing - mid-April through November
These may change due to changes in temperature.
For extended package trips or overnight camping and fishing trips, please call us for rate information. We can build a custom package to accommodate you.
Years past some of our best fishing took place in the Hite and Bullfrog areas. Those trips are a minimum 3 days due to distance of travel. With our extended trips we can provide early fishing and come in during the heat of the day, then hit it again later in the day into the evening.
There is a landing strip at Bullfrog and Hite (3800') and a shuttle service is available from either of the motels there.

Flies will be provided. Travel, gratuities and licensing is not included. You will need an Arizona and Utah license due to the crossover on the lake into both states. Lunches can be ordered through Ambassador Guides or you can buy lunch at the delis of Safeway or Bashas. You can also pick up a great breakfast sandwich or lunch through Beans coffee shop located in Page as well. They are known for their "great gourmet" coffees along with good quick food.
