Some recent photos of some great anglers and my guy yesterday “flyfishing”.
Smallmouth and largemouth and sunrise and dusk both top water and Yamamoto dark brown and orange grubs on 1/4 oz. Yamamoto jig heads. Stripers are plentiful but can be contrary to a daily winning catch rate on the end of the Lake Powell. There are bait schools everywhere and we are catching some early morning by trolling deep divers shad in purple backs and natural. Some mornings allot of fish hook ups and some just a few. We like the main channels in the side canyons around 50-75′ to depth range. Bait is still touch and go again depending on the last feeding to live shad nearby.
Traffic is still very heavy on weekends for fishing and camping so fish early really all week for best results. Catfishing is good off deep cliffs and back of houseboats at night. Just chump up a spot and give it a day to get started. Google some great recipes for “Channel Goodness”.
