Lake Powell Fishing Report – June 9, 2023 – Capt. Bill
Lake Powell Elevation: 3569.07
Lake has risen approx. 33’

Baite fishing that usually last through the summer could be tapering off early due to the great runoff that is coming to Lake Powell. Slurping stripers are being observed in the main channel and Padre Bay already. That would normally occur late August early September and artificial from there through November then the stripers will entitle down again the side Canyon to bait fish again, jig or trolling.

For early June you should be rigged to bait fish, throw top water lures in small sizes or storm shad. Fly fishing could be excellent with knowledgeable boat positioning and streamer flys like 2 1/2 lefty deceivers. A slow sinking tip works best at this time 5, 6 or 7 wt. rods are okay.

Lots of fish and healthier which is a bonus and we haven’t experienced in decades. Check out my special we are currently running and if you are RV’ing it, please check out Antelope Point Marinas RV Park – New and really well done.

I am currently launching now from Antelope Point which has made it very easy for for customers to catch a ride down, and load on the boat right there. No long hikes up or back!

Tight lines,

Capt. Bill
