Lake Powell Fishing Report 5/19/19 by Capt. Bill

Fishing will be best between Spring Colder/Windy front prevailing. Trolling spawning points and baiting if fish have moved deeper. Patience is the only way and catch numbers will vary. Smallmouth and largemouth bass will be slower until weather stabilizes.

The remainder of May and all of June are tops for the Fly Rodder as well. A fast sink 15′ tip and 8′ flurocarbon leader and tippett – heavy eye clausers 3-4″ (red and blue are the secret. The other secret are knowing where the schools of bait are. Fish eating birds should be present. Locating spawning femails will produce fat roaming males nearby.

Good fishing to all!
