Photo: William Thompson, age 15 from Idaho Falls ID, caught a big striper in the Escalante River Arm of Lake Powell. He was fishing with his family when stripers started to boil in the back of the canyon.  He caught the first striper from a boil in 2014. Wayne’s Words Lake Powell Fishing Report 6-06-12

  My weekly fishing trip was one day after a full moon and a big windstorm.  I wasn’t expecting much but was pleased to find cooperative smallmouth and striped bass. Stripers were feeding on plankton near the surface at the edge of the brush line.   They seemed to be slightly deeper than last week with most hits coming where bottom depth was 25-30 feet.
